Downloading Your Assets
Every 3D model, texture and graphic in your Assets library can be downloaded back to your computer or phone — one file at a time, as the original file you uploaded, or several at once as a .zip. Downloads are available on every plan, including the free trial, and to every team member who can see the library.

Download one file
- 1Go to Dashboard > Assets and open the 3D Models, Textures or Graphics tab.
- 2On a computer, move the pointer over the asset and click the Download icon. In list view the icon sits at the end of the row.
- 3On a phone or tablet, tap the ⋯ (More actions) button on the asset and choose Download.
- 4You can also download from the preview: open the asset with the eye icon and click Download in the top-right corner of the preview window.
- 5Your browser saves the file under the asset's name, for example "Lounge Chair.glb", and shows it in its downloads list.
Tip: The file name comes from the name you see in the library, not the name the file had when you uploaded it. Rename an asset first (⋯ > Rename) if you want the download to have a different name.
Which file you get
| Asset | File you receive | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| 3D model | GLB — the exact file your configurators use | Whatever format you uploaded, Simplio3D stores the model as GLB. |
| 3D model uploaded as OBJ, FBX, STL, DAE, GLTF or ZIP | GLB, or the original file you uploaded | Open the Download menu and choose "Download original OBJ" (or FBX, ZIP…). The card shows a format badge, e.g. OBJ. |
| Texture | The image as stored (PNG, JPG, WebP…) | Very large images may have been compressed when you uploaded them. |
| Graphic | The graphic as stored (SVG, PNG, JPG, EPS) | SVG files are saved after the security clean-up done at upload (scripts and links to other websites removed). |
Original files: Simplio3D keeps the original file of models uploaded in another format since August 2026. A model uploaded as GLB, or before then, has only the GLB — the menu then offers just one download.
Download several files as a .zip
- 1Click Select next to the sort menu (on a phone, the button with the checklist icon).
- 2Tick the assets you want: click anywhere on a card or row, or use its checkbox. A selected asset gets a coloured outline.
- 3Use "Select all" to pick everything the tab is currently showing. Search and category filters apply, so filter first to download one category.
- 4Click Download .zip in the bar at the bottom of the screen. A progress bar shows each file being added; click Cancel to stop.
- 5Your browser saves a single file, for example "Simplio3D-3D-models-2026-10-05.zip". Assets with the same name are numbered, e.g. "chair (2).glb".
- 6Press Esc or click × in the bar to leave selection mode. Selecting a single asset downloads it as itself, without a .zip.
Limits: one .zip holds up to 100 files and 500 MB, so a phone never has to keep gigabytes in memory. For a bigger selection, download in batches (for example one category at a time) or download large files one by one. A .zip contains the GLB of each 3D model; download original files one at a time.
If a file can't be added: the other files are still saved, and the .zip contains a file named _download-report.txt listing the ones that are missing and why. Download those individually.
Who can download
Every plan and every role
Starter, Pro, Enterprise and the free trial can all download. In a team workspace, every member who can see the Assets page can download — including the Viewer role.
After a trial ends
During the read-only days after a trial ends, downloads still work — a good moment to keep a copy. Once the account is locked, the Assets page opens again when a plan is activated.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Nothing happens after clicking Download | Your browser may be blocking downloads from this site. Allow downloads for app.simplio3d.ai and try again. |
| "This model has no original file" | The model was uploaded as GLB, or before original files were kept. Download the GLB instead. |
| "Original-file downloads are still being rolled out" | An update is still reaching the server. Wait a few minutes, then try again. |
| "The file could not be found in storage" | The file behind this asset is missing. Upload it again; contact Support if the asset is used in a published configurator. |
| Download .zip is greyed out | The selection is over 100 files or 500 MB — the message under the bar says which. Deselect some assets. |
| The Download buttons are not visible on a computer | They appear when you move the pointer over an asset. You can always use the ⋯ (More actions) button instead. |
Every action on an asset — preview, download, rename, delete — is also in its ⋯ menu.
